This Privacy Policy explains how FamTimer (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit famtimer.com (the “Site”) and when you use the FamTimer iPhone and Mac app (the “App”).
FamTimer is designed with privacy in mind. Kids, timers, presets, and family-share data stay on your devices and in your Apple iCloud / CloudKit account. We do not collect, transmit, or store that family data on our own servers. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking SDKs for ads.

2. When You Visit the Site
If you only browse the Site, we collect very little:
- Basic server and security logs (for example, IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) to keep the Site secure and running.
- Contact information if you email us directly.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers on the Site. If we add analytics or cookies in the future, we will update this policy.
3. Information We Access in the App
Family timers and kids
The App stores information you enter, including kid names, timer labels and durations, saved presets, pause/cancel state, Parent PIN (stored only on that device), and device role settings. This data is used only to run and sync timers for your family.
Notifications and alarms
With your permission, FamTimer can schedule system timer alerts (AlarmKit on iPhone), show Live Activities, and send local notifications (for example, when a timer starts on a kid device or when a timer ends for a parent). These stay on the device unless Apple delivers them as part of the system.
Information stored on your device
FamTimer also saves preferences locally, including:
- Whether this install is a Parent or Kid role
- Which kid this device is assigned to
- Parent end-alert and related notification preferences
- Local records of which alarms and alerts this device already scheduled
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
On your devices
Your data is stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework.
iCloud / CloudKit
When you are signed into iCloud, family data can sync through CloudKit (including CloudKit Sharing for different Apple IDs) so parent and kid devices stay in sync.
- Sync is tied to your Apple ID and any family share you accept.
- We do not operate our own cloud servers for your timer data.
- We cannot access your synced CloudKit data.
- If iCloud is unavailable, the App continues working locally.
5. Purchases
Optional Family Unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to check entitlement status so the App knows whether Family Unlock is active. RevenueCat and Apple process purchase receipts under their own privacy policies. We never receive your full payment card information.
6. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact information (unless you email us directly)
- FamTimer user accounts (there are none beyond Apple ID / App Store)
- Kid names, timer contents, or family-share data on our servers
- Advertising identifiers for tracking across apps
- Location data
7. How Your Data Is Used
App data is used only on your devices (and in your iCloud / CloudKit account) to:
- Start, sync, pause, resume, and complete family timers
- Schedule AlarmKit alerts and related Live Activities on the ringing device
- Show parent finished/canceled notifications when enabled
- Gate Family Unlock features after a verified App Store purchase
8. Third-Party Services
FamTimer uses Apple services (App Store, CloudKit, AlarmKit, notifications) and RevenueCat for in-app purchase entitlement status. We do not integrate third-party advertising networks.

9. Data Retention
Because we do not collect or store your family timer data on our servers, there is no server-side data retention for that content. App data remains on your devices until you delete it. iCloud / CloudKit data remains in your Apple account (and any shares you create) and is governed by Apple’s policies. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat as needed to provide entitlements.
10. Your Choices and Control
You can:
- Revoke notification or AlarmKit permission in iOS Settings → FamTimer
- Leave a CloudKit family share or manage iCloud data through your Apple Account
- Delete the app to remove locally stored preferences and data on that device
- Manage or refund App Store purchases through Apple
11. Children’s Privacy
FamTimer is intended for families and may be installed on children’s devices under parental control. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children on our servers. Parents control kid profiles and timers on their devices and via Apple iCloud.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of FamTimer after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
